How To: Use a Bang Piece and Closure

How do you finish your weave? Many weave-wearers like to finish their weave with their own hair out (aka “leave out”) at the top, so that the style looks more realistic. However, depending on how much hair you have to leave out and the texture of the weave, this method can look very unnatural, and is even damaging, since the “leave out” is exposed more frequently to chemical relaxers and heat. For a more protective alternative, try wearing a closure!

Our Simply Perfect 9 collection includes both a free bang piece and crown closure for you to create a seamless finish for a full sew-in or full stocking cap wig. Follow our step-by-step guide on how to use the bang piece and crown closure to create your own seamless finish.

How to use Simply Perfect 9 bang piece and closure

Step 1
Mark the crown point about 2 ½” – 3” from the hairline.
Then, take the free bang piece that’s included in the pack, and place about 4-5 rows of track closely together, beginning at the front hairline. Work your way upwards towards the crown, until the crown point is at the very center. Depending on how full you want the bangs to be, you can add more tracks accordingly.

Step 2
Next, take the closure piece and cut away the excess lace around the edges.

Step 3
Before placing, be sure to apply a thin layer of bonding glue on both the open area and on the base of the closure piece. Wait a few minutes to let the glue set, then apply the closure at the top.

*Final Note: You can create your own parting by directing the hair away from the face according to the style you want to create. You can also trim the bang piece to create a chinese bang. Click here to learn how to trim your bang piece.

This was very helpful! Many tutorials leave this part out or rush through the steps. Thank you for posting this!

Hey Emily! The difference between Simply Perfect 7 & Simply Perfect 9 is that Simply Perfect 9 is our hair that comes in longer lengths and more bundles. Aside from that, it’s the same thing! 🙂
