Fall is all about rich, warm colors. So, for October’s Style of the Month, we bleached and colored our new Simply Perfect 7 hair (Color: Natural Brown) to a vibrant burgundy color. Isn’t it pretty?
Follow our step-by-step guide on how to bleach and dye non-processed human hair weaves to any color you desire.
What you will need:
• Bleaching Powder
• Developer V20 or V30
• Hair Dye Product
• Mixing Bowl
• Foil Sheet
• Simply Perfect 7 Natural Body (18”/18”/20”/20”/22”/22”)
Step 1
Lightly spray hair with clean water. This helps open up the cuticle to speed up the process.
Step 2
Add 2 scoops of bleach powder and 20V or 30V crème developer together (50:50 ratio) and mix them together completely.
*For higher lift and a faster process, you may use 40V developer. However, please watch carefully as it may cause more damage to the hair cuticles.
Step 3
Using an application brush, start to apply the mix on the Simply Perfect 7 Natural Body hair. Make sure that the mix is well and evenly saturated. Wrap the applied area well with foil and time it for 15 minutes.
*Make sure to use the hairdressing foil.
*Be sure to check the hair every 5 minutes to see how much the hair is lifting, as the time of processing may vary depending on the products and hair you use.
Step 4
Shampoo thoroughly in lukewarm or cool water making sure all the chemical residue is washed out.
*Do not use a hydrating shampoo or conditioner during this wash because these products will close the hair cuticles and make it difficult for the hair to absorb the dye color.
Step 5
Apply hair dye products 1” above the bleached area. It will create a natural transition between the original hair color and the bleached area. Let the hair dye color process for 30 minutes. Then, shampoo in lukewarm or cool water, and apply a deep conditioning treatment for at least 15 minutes and rinse well.
* Slightly scrunch the hair to keep the curl pattern. And then, lay the hair on the towel to air dry completely. Do not hang the wet hair to dry because that can stretch out the curl pattern.

What Color Hair Dye Did You Use ?
I tried bleaching my simply perfect 9, straight, natural and it barely changed a shade. Any tips?

I used BW2 and 40v clear developer. I ruined the hair because I over processed it.

We would not recommend bleaching the hair again because the chemical will damage the hair cuticles.
For easy lifting, we would recommend natural brown color 🙂
I used 40v. It turned my Hair a whitish grey. I just dyed it IBG dark brown permanent dye m131. Now I want a deep Burgundy. Please some advice

Since you already bleached & dyed it once, we don’t advise you to color it again. If you would like to achieve a deep burgundy shade, I would recommend starting from scratch with a new batch of hair.

Can you use regular foil when bleaching ?

Yes, you can use regular household foil when bleaching. However, you should be aware that household foil tends to be a bit heavier than salon foil. So, be sure that the foil is secure when covering the hair you’re bleaching. 🙂

It will depend on the dye you use and how bright/light you want the emerald green to be. I would recommend testing a little piece of the hair with the dye before doing it!

Firstly, we actually do not recommend bleaching or dyeing our Simply Non-Processed Natural Black hair. Since the hair is darker, it is harder for the bleach and dye products to lift the color. Instead, you can use our Natural Brown color, which will color easily and beautifully.
With regards to your question, the products we recommend using to bleach & dye the hair are:
• Bleaching Powder
• Developer V20 or V30
• Hair Dye Product
I would be very cautious using V40 Creme Peroxide Developer because it has the highest amount of peroxide and will lighten the hair a lot very quickly. V40 will bring your hair 6 “levels” of lightness, as opposed to V20, which will bring your hair 2 “levels” down. Please consult with a hair professional, or read instructions carefully. If you do end up using the V40 developer, be sure to bleach the hair in stages (one week in between each stage), and use a lot of deep conditioning treatments to prepare the hair in between stages. Otherwise, the hair will become very damaged and dried out.

Whether or not you need to bleach your hair will depend on what color you’re trying to achieve. For a lighter and brighter color, you will most likely have to use bleach to achieve it. But if you’re only looking to lighten the current shade a little bit, bleaching might not be necessary.

Hi I purchased brazilian hair that was 2 shades too dark. I used developer 20 with an auburn color by argan oil hair color. The hair didn’t lighten good enough. I did this lastnight and now stuck trying to figure out how to get chocolate brown color. I’m getting it installed this afternoon but now has a chocolate brown bundle and 1b color lookin bundle. What can I do to get this black to brown? I’m not suppose to bleach it again right? Please help

If you already bleached & dyed the hair, we would not recommend bleaching it again. If you would like to achieve a chocolate brown color, you would first want to bleach your hair so that it is light enough to take the box color you’re trying to achieve. Yes my brazilian hair was bleached a lift pinkish redish wanted to get it back to the color it was when I purchased it also its freshly sewed in my hair can I leave it in my head and color it and if so how do u recommend I do it

We do not recommend recoloring your weave because it will further damage and weaken the hair. Ideally, you would have to bleach the hair even further and deposit the color you are trying to achieve (such as a natural brown color).
We also do not recommend coloring the hair while it is still sewn in, unless you are going to a professional colorist who can do it for you.

I bleached my hair two weeks ago, could I use a rinse? Or does it have to be a dye?

Yes, you can use a rinse. A rinse can darken your hair color, but not lighten it, so as long as the rinse is darker than the color of your bleached hair, you will be able to use it.

Hey Anita! If you are trying to achieve a very vibrant blue/green color, your hair must be bleached all the way down to the lightest color possible (almost white) to be able to take the color of the rinse. The brands we would suggest trying are ADORE or ION. 🙂
I’m wanting to dye the hair a silver/grey. Would it be better to purchase the hair in a light blonde instead of 1B that way it’ll be easier to color

We would recommend getting color 613 which is a platinum blonde so the hair is already bleached for you. You just need to dye it to the grey color you desire.

I used a 30v developer and it didn’t get as light as I wanted to be; it was like a reddish orange color. Can I rebleach it to bring the color lighter or just work with what I have?

If you would like to bring it lighter, you can definitely bleach it again. But please keep in mind that using bleaching chemicals will damage the hair cuticles. We would recommend waiting one week before rebleaching the hair, and definitely apply a deep conditioning treatment after bleaching.

We would recommend a 20V or 30V developer. And always do a strand test first to see how your hair reacts to the developer and get a estimated time for your desired color.

We highly recommend using virgin or non-processed human hair when bleaching and dyeing for the best results. Other forms of hair extensions may already be processed and colored, which makes it more difficult for the color to change.
It’s my first time bleaching/dying my Brazilian hair. To make a long story short I bleached my with a 40v developer and put 2 orange tones colors on my hair.. problem when I was lifting the color it was increases and streaks of hairs I’ve missed when bleaching so my hair looks like the transition of a FALL (AUTUMN) to a Dying Brown leave.. I don’t want to damage my hair before I install it so do you guys think I should just try to wing it as long as my installment slayed or I can just put an darker orange or copper dye over the top to help the missed hair areas??????.

You’re right – the more chemicals you deposit onto the hair, the more damage there will be. And if you put the darker orange/copper dye over the unbleached parts, the hair will still be quite dark. In order to exactly match the rest of the hair, you would have to first bleach the unbleached portion of the hair, and then reapply the dye over it. I hope this helps to answer your question!

Since you already dyed your hair to black, we would not recommend you to dye it again. Black is a lot darker than red color. So the weave won’t be able to take any red dye.

Since it’s already jet black color, we would not recommend bleaching it. The bleaching chemical will damage the hair cuticles and it won’t change the color of the weave.
I bleach my hair and dyedid Violet gem,baby blue and aquamarine my Violet came out perfectly but the baby blue and aquamarine came out green Wat I’m I doin wrong

It sounds like you didn’t bleach your hair light enough for the baby blue and aquamarine to come out. When the hair is a little yellow or grassy color, it won’t take baby blue and aquamarine dye. To achieve those colors, your hair should be bleached to a platinum blonde color.
